The Merchant[]

The Merchant is an NPC (non-playable character) that offers special orders for plants that you can harvest. The orders are typically for a lower level type of plant that you can harvest quickly. He will also accept the equivalent star plant, e.g. if he asks for tomatoes but you cannot sow them anymore you can sow star tomatoes instead. Upon completion of the order, you will receive an extra score, and also a 30-minute boost to the chance of harvesting a flower with your crop. The Merchant disappears for 15 minutes, you should grow the highest possible plant again in the meantime.
The Merchant is unlocked via a prosper upgrade from the Mayor.
Reward Types[]
As of v1.59 the Merchant can offer 3 special reward types.
- Flowers Fertilizer
- Super Compost: Greatly Increases the growing rate of the crops for a limited time.
- Farming Book: Increases the amount of experience earned when harvesting for a limited time. The higher the level of the farmer, the higher the power and duration.
**When a special reward is offered, the player can choose the one he/she wants.
